With only one week to go until the 13th April deadline to register to vote in local elections, we are urging tenants and the general public to make sure they do this in time.
These elections are held every five years with the next one occurring on Thursday May 4th. These are used to decide who from your local community will become councillors, as a collective they will then form your local council.
Councils are responsible for providing local services and facilities and are responsible for the following areas:
- Education services
- Leisure facilities
- Local planning
- Local transport
- Parks and public spaces
- Roads
- Social services
- Waste and recycling
