Cadwyn operates a programme to replace components in our housing stock when they have reached the end of their life.
- Bathrooms
- Boundaries
- Electrical wiring
- External doors
- Heating systems
- Kitchens
- Paved areas
- Roofs
- Windows
The lifespan of these items is based on industry standard knowledge and our own experience. The decision to replace them will also be based on its condition and suitability. This means that some items will last longer than expected while others may be replaced sooner.
What is the expected lifespan of components?
- Heating system including boiler and radiators – 15 years
- Kitchen including extractor fan, floor finish, wall tiles and decoration – 20 years
- Windows and External Doors – 20 years
- Bathroom including shower, floor finish, wall tiles and decoration – 30 years
When the components reach the end of their lifespan, Cadwyn will arrange for the item to be inspected and assessed for possible replacement.
