After a rigorous recruitment process, we are thrilled to announce that Kath Palmer has been appointed Chief Executive to lead Cadwyn.
Kath brings a wealth of experience from her previous role in Welsh Government as Deputy Director of Housing and Regeneration and more recently as Executive Director of Place, Policy and Stakeholder Engagement at Hafod.
Chair of the Board at Cadwyn, Judith James said: “Cadwyn is a Community Housing Association, so relationships with tenants and staff are key to our success. Each of these groups was involved in both identifying what type of person we were looking for, and the final interview process. Kath was the unanimous choice! She brings a range of relevant experience, but just as importantly, great passion and enthusiasm. Cadwyn is at an exciting time in its development, working with our partners to provide high quality homes and support when needed to people in Cardiff. We are confident that Kath will help us to build on this and develop further in the future.”
Kath Palmer said: “I am absolutely delighted to be appointed the Chief Executive of Cadwyn which is a great community and values based organisation. I am passionate about ensuring that everyone has access to a decent home and that we strengthen services for vulnerable people. I am really looking forward to working with Cadwyn’s great staff, tenants, partners and stakeholders to ensure we continue to build more high quality homes and support services.”
Judith added, “Chris O’Meara has been Chief Executive at Cadwyn for 27 years and grown the organisation from very small beginnings to where we are today. This is Cadwyn’s 50 Anniversary, and she has chosen this landmark to retire, and will leave on 21 December. We would like to thank Chris for everything she has done for the organisation during her time here and wish her a very happy retirement.”
Kath will join Cadwyn in March. In the interim, Finance Director, Sam Daniels, will be Acting Chief Executive.
