The Deeds Not Words initiative was launched by Tai Pawb in 2020. A series of race equality pledges were developed mainly for the housing sector, in order to play its part in addressing systemic racism and inequality. Deeds not Words sets to end racial inequalities and racism experienced by BAME communities.
Cadwyn has developed a report demonstrating what has been achieved across the organisation to meet the pledges agreed just over two years ago. We are thrilled with the progress that has been made but we know there is even more to do.
The report presents evidence of extensive work, commitment, positive efforts and leadership shown throughout Cadwyn. It also paints a challenging but honest picture of where we are now. The evidence clearly shows that no sector or organisation is immune to racism and that for many of our black, Asian and minority ethnic colleagues the painful experience of racism, exclusion and lack of diversity is all too common.
