Cadwyn is a community housing association based in Cardiff. We are a diverse business with experience in social housing management and development, social lettings, market lets and sales, commercial regeneration, an amazing recycling project and supporting tenants to gain valuable skills and employment. This role is to provide a caretaking service for our Mill development located in Canton. We manage 384 properties at the Mill on behalf of Tirion Group Limited. Phase D of the build is currently underway and is due to complete in summer 2024 which will bring the site to 442 managed units.
We are looking for a Caretaker to join the Mill team to deliver a high quality service for our residents and work in partnership with Tirion’s grounds maintenance contractors to ensure that the Mill environment and grounds are kept in excellent condition. There are 13 blocks of flats of varying sizes at the moment with another 3 due to become occupied from August to December.
There is a variety of tasks for you to get involved with, which will include:
Cleaning of communal areas and spaces, making sure bin areas and other external area are clear from rubbish and other belongings
Minor repairs as necessary and clearance of voids on occasionMonthly fire checks/alarm testingLitter picking around the estate and weeding/spraying of paved areasInspection of public realm areas and reporting of repairs/maintenance to TirionIdentifying Health & Safety Hazards, this would include risks which could cause injuries from slips, trips and falls and any other risks which could arise such as fire hazards, electrical hazards and reporting this.
You must be able to work on your own and within a team to deliver the services as required for our residents and be able to drive a medium sized van which will be provided.
At Cadwyn the majority of our staff work in an agile way, working mostly at home with the ability to hot desk at one of our three sites across Cardiff or to work from any other suitable/convenient location. Please note this role will be site based.
