The Abolition of the Right to Buy and Associated Rights (Wales) Act 2018 gained Royal Assent on 24 January 2018.
The Welsh Government has published an Information for Tenants document explaining the effect of the legislation (attached).
Alternative language versions (Polish, Arabic, Portuguese, Spanish and Somalian) of the Welsh Government information document, and an easy read version, will shortly be available on the Welsh Government website at http://gov.wales/topics/housing-and-regeneration/legislation/abolition-of-right-to-buy-and-associated-rights/?lang=en
Further information regarding the Act can be found at: http://www.senedd.assembly.wales/mgIssueHistoryHome.aspx?IId=17260
Tenants who live in Cardiff no longer have the right to apply to purchase their homes because Cardiff Council applied to the Welsh Government to suspend the Right to Buy and Right to Acquire in all areas of Cardiff.
There is no suspension in place in Caerphilly so if you live in one of our properties there you still have the right to apply for the purchase of your home until 26 January 2019.
Please contact Cadwyn on 02920 498898 if you require further information.
