Cadwyn is a community housing association based in Cardiff. We are a diverse business with experience in social housing management and development, social lettings, market lets and sales, commercial regeneration and an amazing recycling project.
Nightingale House is our 26 bed hostel for families who are homeless and we are looking to add to our pool of Relief Workers who provide cover for staff holidays and training at Nightingale House.
The team provides support for families to prepare them in securing and maintaining a tenancy. Relief workers are the first point of contact for families living in the hostel, and are responsible for maintaining a safe, clean and secure environment.
Shifts will be offered as and when required.
What we need:
Someone who has empathy towards the different needs and emotions that families can feel while living in the hostel, is proactive and willing to get ‘stuck in’. The ability to remain calm under pressure is vital. The ideal candidate will be be able to perform tasks to a high standard during day and/or night time hours.
Essential skills, knowledge and experience:
Experience of Outlook, Word and Excel (to a basic standard)Experience of ad hoc support and managing risk issues, such as child protection and domestic abuseUnderstanding the needs of families who are homelessExperience of working in a teamAn awareness of health and safety in the workplace
